The Guardian (founded in England more than 200 years ago) claims to be “… proud to produce quality journalism with serious depth and breadth. We report with rigour on the events shaping our world, analyse consequences, offer solutions and inspire meaningful action.” Kim has written opinions for The Guardian US since 2017, mostly on the climate crisis, global biodiversity loss and threats to US public lands. His work has been challenged by The Heartland Institute (a climate change denial machine financed by the fossil fuel industry) and praised by the Alaska Wilderness League and Rachel Carson Council. He has also written for the Anchorage Daily News (see below), Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Juneau Empire, Terrain.org and Yale Environment 360.
